Aretha Franklin was born in Memphis, Tennesee in 1942 and died in Detroit, Michigan in 2018. She was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. She was also referred to as the Queen of Soul. It is important that we honor her for her classic songs and albums that help to shape many genres of music.
