Hattie Beverly was born in December 1874 and died in 1904. Hattie graduated from Innovation Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating from college in 1899, Hattie became a teacher at Congress Elementary school. In honor of her service in education, the Hattie Beverly Tutoring opened in 2000 to help young learners achieve academic success.
