We stand with you
Dear members and supporters,
The year 2020 has been quite eventful.
From the COVID-19 pandemic, that is disproportionately affecting the black community, to protests across the country in response to the death of George Floyd and the persistent impacts of systemic racism in America. The NIA Centre board of directors stands with you as the world fights COVID-19 and racial injustice. These tragedies give us motivation to continue uplifting the Black community through our My Story events and other programming being developed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Remember, our collective story is one of strength and beauty. Please stay safe, healthy and hopeful for the future.
Essential workers, we see you.
Thank you to our fellow board member, Sonja Forte, Chief Operations Officer for Baxter Community Center, and to ALL of our Members and Supporters who also work as essential workers, heath care professionals, grocery clerks, bus drivers, mail carriers, police officers, firefighters, delivery drivers, bank cashiers, farmers, sanitation workers and others—who put their lives on the line for us to help ensure our community’s future. They are our she-roes and heroes!
