Ruth Etta Coleman
founder
Ruth Etta Coleman is the visionary who founded the NIA Centre, and is working to help bring it to life. A social worker who holds an MSW and a MCJ, she works with the board to assist with the development and implementation of the NIA Centre, and to help it meet its mission of preserving our past, sharing our present, creating our future. Ruth feels the NIA Centre’s mission is particularly relevant for children, as it is vitaly important that they know their history.
Obviously a very busy woman, in her free time, Ruth rests!
“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” Marcus Garvey
