Shirley Boundy

Marketing Chair

Shirley has more than 25 years of experience in the Marketing Communications/Public Relations profession, spanning the non-profit, hospitality and manufacturing fields.

From 1991 to June, 2012, Shirley owned Hubers & Associates, a group of consultants specialized in Marketing Communications, which included public relations, marketing, event management, project direction, meeting planning, and graphic design, among other support activities. Her clients covered a broad spectrum of businesses but the primary focus was on clients in the architecture and design community.

Active in the community, Shirley has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, Vice President of Marketing with the Board of Directors for Opera Grand Rapids, Chair of the Marketing Committee of the Board of Directors for Project Rehab, the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce’s Literacy Roundtable, the Campaign Cabinet Task Force for the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art (UICA) and as a public relations consultant to the Michigan Statewide Systemic Initiative (MSSI), developed by the Michigan Department of Education. She also served as a consultant to the Public Relations committee of the Board of Directors for ArtServe Michigan, an arts advocacy based in Southfield.

Shirley holds a B.S. in English literature, science, psychology, and mixed arts from Eastern Michigan University, and engaged in graduate studies at Central Michigan University.
